SHIPPING SERVICES 2012 PRICING PDF Print E-mail

Background

New Postal Service Shipping Services prices were announced on Nov. 22, 2011, and will take effect on Jan. 22, 2012 at 12:01 a.m. ET. Shipping Services (also known as “Competitive Products”) includes Express Mail, Priority Mail, International Shipping Services, along with some other products and services. The new prices take effect the same day as the new prices for Postal Service Mailing Services, including a one-cent increase in the price of a First-Class Mail stamp (Forever stamps).

BACKGROUND:

Prices for most Postal Service mailing services will change on January 22, 2012. Mailing services includes First-Class Mail, Standard Mail, Periodicals, Package Services and Extra Services. Prices for shipping services will also change on January 22. We will provide customers the new shipping services prices later this fall.

While actual percentage price increases for various products and services varies, the overall average price increase across all mailing services is capped by law at 2.1 percent, the rate of inflation as measured by the Consumer Price Index.

USPS Columbus Day Holiday PDF Print E-mail

All Business Mail Acceptance Units will be closed on Monday, October 10, 2011 for Columbus Day with the exception of Columbia, Charleston, and Greenville.

These units will be observing their normal acceptance hours on that holiday for customers whose permits are held at those offices.

Mailers are reminded that retail operations are not open on holidays. Therefore funds must be deposited in accounts by COB the Friday before the holiday for Monday mailings.
